What a crazy few months, fam.
Things are moving and grooving here at Unseam the Label. We’re so excited to give you a little “behind the seams” update on what we’ve been up to the past few weeks (and hope you’re as amped up as we are about it).
First and foremost, our Kickstarter campaign ended on November 19, 2020. We received an outpour of support and have put together a post to thank and recognize each of our backers and Founding Patrons for all the pre-orders and the love you’ve given us (you know who you are ;).
Our top styles (starting with the most popular) ended up being The Stella Dress, followed by The Emma Pants, and The Natalie Jumpsuit. Truly hard to go wrong with any of them though, if we may say so ourselves!
What we've been working on:
Once the campaign ended, we got 👏🏻 to 👏🏻 work. 👏🏻
We spent a few weeks making sure to collect all of our pre-order backers’ info - such as their style sizes, color preferences and shipping addresses. Then the exciting part - we were able to order and secure nearly all of the material and fabrics needed for production.
We did face one challenge with our navy-colored maxi dress fabric though... The supplier told us it would be on backorder until mid-February. Unfortunately, this means we’ll be facing around a 2.5 month delay in producing The Stella Dress in navy (with a July estimated fulfillment date). We were unfortunately unable to predict this from happening, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause any of our backers.
However, we shall persevere and move forward with production for the rest of the styles (including the maxi dress in black)! As of now, we’re slightly behind on the overall timeline, given that it took a while for suppliers to get back to us with many folks being out during the holidays. Please note that anyone who pre-ordered styles in addition to The Stella Dress in navy will still get their other pieces when we've finalized the first round of production, just in a separate shipment.
Our next steps:
Once we’ve received all other materials ordered, we’ll be expertly checking for correct items, colors, quantities, and most importantly, quality. Then, once all materials are confirmed with no issues, we’ll be able to secure production time with our factory partner to get ready to produce our first collection.
Outside of getting everything ready to roll, we really do have to give a big shout out to our development team. They’ve worked tirelessly this past month to update size gradings to include XXSP sizing for all three styles (voted for inclusion by YOU, our petite community). We also got our XXSP size labels created just in time. It’s because of your insight and feedback that we pushed to include what you needed most, which helps us create the best styles for your petite pleasure. Keep ‘em comin’ ladies. :)
2020 proved to be a lot more difficult for the world than we thought, but we’re so blessed and honored to be where we are today. We can’t wait to continue on this journey together in 2021, and have all of you along for the ride.
With excitement and gratitude,
P.S. - As always, we want to hear from you! Reach out with any questions on our progress.
